My colleague Patrina Nolan and I were given a fantastic opportunity last month to attend the prestigious event that is SMX. The two-day conference took place on the 20th and 21st of May and was held in the ETC Venues in Bishopsgate.
‘Search Marketing Expo is the only search marketing conference designed exclusively for experienced internet marketers. Sessions are fast-paced, Q&A-packed, frequently controversial, always informative…and don’t stop to cover the basics.’
All the great tips and new tools that we have discovered through our experience at SMX will greatly benefit our clients in the future.

Creating Blockbuster Content for Law Firms and Businesses
My favourite part of SMX London (aside the very appetising range of foods and snacks throughout the day) was the ‘Creating Blockbuster Content’ session with speakers Andy Atkins-Kruger, Yael Kochman (who I had the pleasure of chatting with briefly) and Simon Penson on day 1. During this session, we heard some very interesting takes on how to create a meaningful customer experience through content. The term ‘blockbuster content’ is content that makes audience pay attention, a good way to do this is through video.
We heard Andy Atkins-Kruger explain that video is an important tool online as its universal across devices, adapts to screen sizes and people like watching video as it’s engaging and more interesting than just reading words on a screen.
In particular, I liked this session as it was the most engaging (possibly because they played a few videos) and thought-provoking. It further supports our theory that ‘CONTENT IS KING’.
‘Good quality content, aimed at your target market, attracts profitable, desirable business and provides cross-selling opportunities to encourage existing clients to spend more money on more services with you.’

To sum up, we found our trip to SMX London to be of valuable experience. Listening to some interesting and knowledgeable speakers – we have been able to take away some worthwhile tips and tools for future. It also gave us a chance to have great, in-depth conversatons with some of the most well-informed people in the SEO industry. For me, it has confirmed that Moore Legal is heading in the right direction to ensure success for our clients.
