Google+ is now integrating even further with organic Google search results, reports leading search engine marketing (SEM) news website SearchEngineLand.

It appears that Google is now giving greater visibility for links to pages which are being actively discussed on Google+. Search Engine Land gives the following example:-

Comment

The implementation of these features is still to be finalised. Sometimes, the 'active discussion' refers to people re-posting or sharing links to the article (much in the same way as a old-fashioned retweet would appear on Twitter, or as shares would appear on Disqus comments below blog posts) and this is not ideal. Almost any share on Google+ would, therefore, provide an 'active discussions' section below each main Google result. Nevertheless, often Google will test features before making an official announcement and that seems to be what is happening here.

The important aspect of this is the trend towards deeper and further syndication between Google+ and Google's organic search results and we will keep you posted on further updates.

Over the next few months we will expect, also, to see an update regarding Google+ Local, which has replaced the appearance of Google Places. Currently it is possible to manage your Google+ Local page via the old Google Places admin panel. With the growth of Google+ business pages (your firm does have one doesn't it? MLT is here on Google+), it shouldn't be long before Google updates us on the way in which such pages can be integrated with Google+ Local. Why does this matter to law firms? When your prospective clients are Googling terms such as 'solicitors east kilbride' (and they do search locally) you will want your firm to appear as high as it possibly can. If it's not in the top results or even on the first page for relevant keywords, your SEO company is not doing its job.
